What is the issb initial test is a question that most people ask? If any candidate either girl or a boy wants to join Pakistan Army, Navy or Air Force. Inter services selection board full form of ISSB conducts test known as “Initial Test” for recruitment in armed forces of Pakistan. Aspirants have to apply online through the respective forces (Army, Navy and Air Force) official site when the courses are offered. ISSB call letter for 2021 will be provided to candidates by ISSB containing test date, test center and all other necessary details. ISSB Online Test / ISSB Written Test
ISSB initial written test is also called the ISSB online test. The reason because ISSB initial test is conducted online on the computer screen having MCQ type questions. This ISSB online test comprises of three sections which are further explained below in detail. The three sections are:
- ISSB Initial Verbal Intelligence Test
- ISSB Initial Non Verbal Intelligence Test
- ISSB Subjective Or Academic Test
ISSB Initial Verbal Intelligence Test
In ISSB Initial verbal intelligence test, there are usually 96 MCQ type questions with the time given for that is 35 minutes. And sometimes 80 questions with 30 minutes of time are given. This test contains all questions of verbal intelligence so candidates should have a strong grip on verbal intelligence questions. Passing criteria for this test is 50%.Passing this test is mandatory to appear in the next stage of test. A candidate can relax a little bit if passed the ISSB initial verbal intelligence test with 50% marks before appearing in the next stage of the ISSB initial test. ISSB Initial Non Verbal Intelligence Test
The next stage of initial test is ISSB initial non verbal intelligence test. You can only appear in this test if you scored 50% in the first verbal intelligence test. The ISSB non verbal test is pictorial based test. As it allows the some analysis of candidate so it is preferred. This test has some extra time than the first one. There are 80 questions with 40 minutes. And sometimes 64 questions in 30 minutes. Aspirants need to pass this test also to proceed to next stage of ISSB initial test. Unfortunately, if you are unable to pass the test, you need to go and leave the test center. And you are considered failed in the ISSB screening test.
ISSB Subjective or Academic Test
The ISSB initial test varies for different course. Especially Subjective section is different from the others. All other sections are almost same. This test includes 50 questions related to your 5 subjects and time limit is 25 minutes to complete the test. Like all above test, this test must also be passed to proceed further. This test contains the questions from the following subjects.
- Math
- English
- Physics/Chemistry/Biology (Depending upon the course)
- Pak Studies
- General Knowledge(Science Group)
- Islamiat
ISSB Initial Physical Test
Upon successful completion of ISSB online test. Candidate have to go to the invigilator and ask for the ISSB initial physical test date and stamp. In some cases 2-3 days are provided. But mostly they call for the initial physical test on the very next day. Following tests are held on the ISSB initial physical fitness test:
- Running Test 2.2 Km in 8 minutes
- Chin ups 3 repetition in 2 minutes
- Push-ups 15 repetition in 2 minutes
- Sit ups 15 repetition in 2 minutes
- Ditch crossing 7 feet jump
If candidate passes all these tests, he/she are given the ISSB initial medical test date. In case fails, a ISSB initial re-physical test date or rejection in signed.
ISSB Initial Medical Test
The ISSB initial medical test is a small scale medical test that checks the following things:
- Weight according to BMI (Body Mass Index)
- Height 5.4 feet minimum
- Chest (breath and un breah gap 5cm)
- Knee Knocking (should not strike)
- Flat Foot
- Bone checking
- Nose and Ear
- Blood Pressure
- Eyesight (Power) and Color Blindness
Note: If candidate have issues in medical, they refer it to CMH/MH/ or PAF hospital for proper checkup. That is free of charge. Only if medical is clear candidate is given a date for interview.
ISSB Initial Interview
ISSB Initial Interview are conducted at respective forces center. Additional instructions are to prepare for general knowledge and subjective questions. Along with your basic introduction. And make sure your looks are decent. Also prepare for the question that why you want to join this force? Only passing students gets the ISSB bio data Form. And need to do ISSB form filling in 2-3 weeks and submit back to center.
